Stanton has a new, rfeely distributed magazine for DJs, For Life which is downloadable from the company's site as a PDF file. It is full of the products of the company of course but looks very good. Unfortunately it is organised in a double-page layout which is not too easy to read but impossible to print - we hope it is not their last format.

An online petition has started against Apple under this link to warn the company. The number of joined people is quickly rising, it is currently above 14,000 who undersigned.
Some are worrying about MacBook Pro, too, while it also has no standard FireWire 400 connector but FireWire 800, a physically and electronically different one. This means you cannot connect your usual interface hardware into it - until to this day Apogee and MOTU has guaranteed compatibility officially. Apple throws FireWire?
Tags: apple mac web

Create Digital Music started a serious dispute on Apple's latest laptop news: all the new models lack the FireWire connection but MacBook Pro. This means that if you own a FireWire interface and want to deal on with it, you have to buy the most expensive MacBook models to live on. This step seems very unfriendly from Apple towards the digital music community which supported enthusiastically this platform. Now, after the latest backlash around the OS X update, a new cloud shades this relation.

It emulates a TR-909, two TB-303, a mixer and 14 effect pedals real time, you can route their signals freely, and tweak them of course. Even the sequencers are running also as we get used to in the original versions. The next version is coming soon with load and save functions, and much more instruments - for example TR-808 drum machine. Click here to start the madness.

Yamaha shows their newest electronic keyboard design concepts at the Milano Salone 2008, an exhibition of interieur and design. They present a series of physical keyboard that are adequate for different situations of the everyday life. If we trust them, in the near future we will choose a keyboard instrument not on the technical parameters but the physical abilities that determines the concrete usability of a piece. In this world, keyboards are much more blending into the environment - a rather practical approach to the composers' mind. A very dull flash application shows how.
