IK Multimedia's fine mastering suite, T-RackS got a new version. It also runs in stand-alone, and has a grand total of nine processing algorhythms - five of the are new, for example the emulation of the legendary Fairchild 670 compressor. You can configure the order of the effects freely, and it has a very safe and sophisticated metering system. A new, refined oversampling method is also implemented. From now, Focusrite offers their super channel effects algorhythm used in Liquid Mix DSP-powered interface as a software plugin pack for TDM-equipped Pro Tools systems. The product is named Liquid Mix HD, It costs 499 USD, and you can learn more about from here.

Universal Audio provides this filter plugin for their DSP platform: Moog Multimode Filter. It has two-pole and four-pole modes, low, high and band cut, the LFO is capable of going after a MIDI sync, and works in mono or stereo, both. It costs 199 USD, and has a decent product page.

Audio Damage wants a good reputation therefore they dropped out a new, analogue modeling compressor for completely free. Rough Rider works on both PC and Mac as a VST effect, has a stylish analogue design, and has some modern functions like MIDI Learn. Download it from here.

White Label has created this simple reverb plugin, bucketEER, which is basicly a 16-part delay module. de la mancha is still very active, now they introduced a two-band compression plugin, Bathtub. You can switch the two independent stereo compressor parallel or serial, what is a really new feature. It costs 29 USD, check here and try.

VRSonic has a new VST reverb, HeadSpace Room which accurately models the environment of the sound source. You can adjust the exact dimensions of the room, and the material that covers the walls. Here is a fine piece of technical art, Coyote-1 from Howler Audio. It is an open source guitar effect box which comes with a full hardware and software documentation, so guitarists with a programming talent can write their own DSP code to perform effects that are new to us. A small Windows utility helps to organize effect patches in the desired order. The box has a Propeller DSP from Parallax, there are eight cores inside, all running at 80 MHz. It has a high-level programming language, Spin, and of course you can reach the cores with assembly instructions, too. MoReVoX has sampled a lot of old spring reverbs and collect them into a huge, 250-piece wave file collection, RetroVerb. The files has very good quality - al of them has 24 bits resolution, stereo and 5-channel surround, taken with a very good equipment -, and can be used in any convolution reverb software. Softube modeled the spring reverb in their newest plugin so gently that it even has a Shake function. An new version has ccome from Auto-Tune, the leading pitch correction software plugin from Antares. It's called Auto-Tune Evo, and it has a completely redesigned core technology, plus a new interface, and a simpler workflow. It shifts pitch real-time also, and checks for the formants to preserve the sound characteristics. Togu Audio Line has replaced their software delay with a new model. TAL-Dub II has a useful add-on, a vintage modeled distortion unit after the delay - and has some new control tricks also. It is free so take it soon.

Warmverb from Tone2 is a great multieffect plugin with a decent quality reverb. Additionally, it has  more than 20 processor like delay, chorus, flanger, and some oddities: talkbox, rotary, ring modulator and vocoder. Calculations are done at 64 bit precision but it doesn't hurt your CPU too much. For more info click here.

Digidesign has assembled two new plugin packages to save your money significantly. MassivePack 7 and MassivePack Pro 7 are for the Pro Tools people of course - the latter contains a DSP card to speed up your workflow. Until 20th Spetember, you can spare a huge 9.000 USD with the basic package and 13.000 USD with the bigger one - while paying 1.300 or 3.500 USD. TC Electronic provides two new harmoniser stomp boxes: one for the guitar player, and one for the keyboardist. Both generates two additional vocal line real-time - the guitar version analyses the strings that sounds, and the keyboardist's solution receives a MIDI file which instructs the box what to generate from the input. KResearch had almost all effect types in their free line but reverb. Until now, because they released KR-Reverb FS, a free and very effective reverb plugin. It runs up to 96 kHz sampling frequency, and very easy to use. Runs on almost all important platform. Check here the website and download it.

Effectrix is an effective device to sequence your effect changes - a good visual solution for a thing we are doing constantly. Its developer, Sugar Bytes set the price to 99 euro - not bad, and it really does numerous things like 14 different effect types, a 32 step sequencer with 12 pieces of subsequences that are switchable with Note On messages, and two continuous controller per effect that are also automatable. The demo videos show excellent usability, check them.

Softube has released a Pro Tools version of their Acoustic Feedback Deluxe, a fine guitar feedback simulator software. It is very useful, though simple. Check here.
