You can buy SONiVOX's great sampled instruments nested into virtual instruments: they work both as stand-alone and as a plugin. Every piece of them are cheap - 20-30 USD -, but contains only a single theme: Bass - Rickenbacker, Guitar - Stratocaster, Guitar - Les Paul etc, so anyone can build an own orchestra with only the relevant samples. At GForce, three days to renew the legendary Mellotron's finest software emulation, M-Tron. The new M-Tron Pro will have several surprise inside and outside: contains 3.5 gigabytes of samples, more than 700 presets, works in dual and split modes, vintage effects are present at the end and more - all this wonder will be step forward from shadow in Monday, at GForce's website, for 199 USD.

IK Multimedia's fine mastering suite, T-RackS got a new version. It also runs in stand-alone, and has a grand total of nine processing algorhythms - five of the are new, for example the emulation of the legendary Fairchild 670 compressor. You can configure the order of the effects freely, and it has a very safe and sophisticated metering system. A new, refined oversampling method is also implemented. The full Deluxe version costs 500 USD, while the Standard that lacks all the new effects but has the new frame costs 200 USD. Here is the product page to know more.

LinPlug's  RMV is a serious instrument, having a heavy-weight sample playback engine and a sophisticated drum synth, too. It has 48 instrument pads, all polyphonic, and all have an own 12x12 modulation matrix as well as envelope generators, parametric EQ, distortion, lots of insert effects at the same time, and a humanizer. Six groove player and slicer serves the musician, and a library module with advanced search capabilities. Voxengo's Elephant mastering plugin reached version 3.0 recently. It has ten types of limiting, converts bit resolution, kills DC offset, oversamples 8 times, calculates with 64-bit resolution and so on. Purchase it until 15th, October for only 70 USD - later you have to pay 90 USD. Here.

This is Alchemy, a new supersynth software from Camel Audio. It is a sample/VA based instrument, packed with a huge array of digital sound manipulation funtions. It loads almost any sound sample (you get two gigabytes with him), has sound morphing, and analogue modeled filters. The arpegggiator inside is a powerful one, also. Price is still not known, but there is a detailed web page about.

Supersynth specialist Spectrasonics promised the top-of-the-line Omnisphere months ago - and finally it is here. Priced at 499 USD, it is not a cheap toy, but it serves for the money heavily. It has a maximum of 10 oscillator per voice, plays back samples and has VA-generators also, and has an extremely wide range of sound manipulation tools. Beyond them, 6 LFOs, 8 envelope generators, 12 effects plus 8 arpeggiators per sound move the sound in the regular way. The package is coming with 40 gigabytes of samples. Check here the rest.

NuSofting released Modelonia, a new softsynth plugin that uses physical modeling to produce sounds. It has accurate brass and plucked strings models, and you can combine the diferent elements inside the instrment. Skinning is performed also, with two selectable skins that are coming from the factory. All these costs 51 euro, here.

Wallander Instruments' WIVI has reached version 2. It realises wind and brass instruments via physical modeling, has a small phrase sequencer, and all this wonder sits in a single plugin. A great feature is the finest velocity resolution on the market, far beyond the usual 127 levels. Not the cheapest one: if you buy the whole ensemble, you end at 1600 USD. Go here to learn more.

Softube modeled the spring reverb in their newest plugin so gently that it even has a Shake function. An new version has ccome from Auto-Tune, the leading pitch correction software plugin from Antares. It's called Auto-Tune Evo, and it has a completely redesigned core technology, plus a new interface, and a simpler workflow. It shifts pitch real-time also, and checks for the formants to preserve the sound characteristics. It also models the mouth size of the singer, and you can even modify it, to control the tonal specs of the singer. The price is 400 USD, to know more click here please.

Eighteen gigabytes of sampled material, Kontakt Player inside, and costs 300 USD: it is Synergy, Sample Logic's latest supersynth. Synergy gives you more than 1200 sound presets for the money, mainly in the modern synth/groove field. Check it here.

LinPlug has updated their virtual saxophone, Saxlab with a new, 2.0 version. They resampled all the raw material with a much better equipment, and developed a lot of small goodies into the system. You have to pay 149 euros to own it. Here are the details.

Warmverb from Tone2 is a great multieffect plugin with a decent quality reverb. Additionally, it has  more than 20 processor like delay, chorus, flanger, and some oddities: talkbox, rotary, ring modulator and vocoder. Calculations are done at 64 bit precision but it doesn't hurt your CPU too much. For more info click here.

KResearch had almost all effect types in their free line but reverb. Until now, because they released KR-Reverb FS, a free and very effective reverb plugin. It runs up to 96 kHz sampling frequency, and very easy to use. Runs on almost all important platform. Check here the website and download it.

Future Audio Workshop's leading product, Circle is out now. It is a combined virtual synthesizer software, consisting of virtual analog and wavetable elements - but the coolest feature is the mystery interface that grabs the eye immediately. Heavyocity, a company that works with game and TV composers released Evolve, a sample based virtual instrument based on the Kontakt Player engine. It has 6 gigabytes of samples, consisting of more than 3,900 individual samples. The softsynth costs 400 USD, check it here for more.

Tascam has released GigaStudio 4 - the pioneering sampling package is competitive again with the leading packages like Kontakt in terms of the specification. It works with 64 bit operating systems, with a maximum of 128 gigabytes of sampling RAM, has a 24 bit and 96 kHz maximum sampling resolution, and the package contains GigaPulse, a nice convolution reverb. GVI, the plugin version of the sampler will soon upgrade to version 4, too (GigaSampler itself works in standalone only). You can buy Giga 4 for 600 USD, here.

IK Multimedia has assembled a special version of their great guitar effect, AmpliTube. AmpliTube Metal can be the heavy metal guitarists' choice because the effect types and the amp models are selected carefully to reflect the style's needs. It costs 200 euro - if you need more info, click here.

Native Instruments now serves the need of the beginner and amateur guitarists: the released Guitar Rig 3 XE, based on their popular modeling and effect software. It has the same audio quality like the bigger brother, and provides five amplifiers and 21 effect types. It plays mp3 files, too. Price is 100 euro, check here. A complete package bundled with an audio interface is also hits the shops soon, called Guitar Rig Session (229 euro). IK Multimedia says they produced the best virtual instrument ever in the Mellotron-cathegory. SampleTron, the package is priced relatively high: it costs 250 euro - here you can order it immediately. The instrument is based on a SampleTank playback engine with 16-part multitimbrality and 256 of polyphony, plus four effects at a time (chosen from 32). The sample material it plays is more than 2 gigabytes long, consists of more than 600 sound programs, sampled from seventeen different instruments: Mellotrons, Chamberlins, Novatron, Optigan and some more.

VirSyn refreshed the company's reverb product, Reflect to 1.3. The new version's biggest new feature is the surround compatibility - the VST3 and RTAS plugins produces anything up to 7.1, and the AU version makes 5.1 at maximum.
